La Sagrada Familia
The beloved designer of La Sagrada Familia Barcelona Antoni Gaudí is like the Catalan capital, home to many of his contemporaries. Even if you are not familiar with his name, you cannot miss the La Sagrada Familia (Holy Family), Gaudí's large, unfinished Catholic church with circular towers, perched on the ground. When Gaudí died in 1926, at the age of 73, the work was not finished. The race is about to end in 2026, the centenary of the builder's death - a sure sign that will attract more visitors to what is already there. More than 4.5 million people a year visit this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site, adorned with ornate interior and exterior. A few decades ago, a visit to the La Sagrada Familia was a dignified one, but modern-day crowds of patriots are feeling the effects as they enter the church and strike each other while taking pictures alone in front of glass panes with amazingly bright spots.
