Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu

Peru is a nation of history, culture, beauty, and experience, with a full range of exploratory opportunities. The old Inca town of Machu Picchu is one of the highlights of a trip to South America, but there is so much to discover about Peru.

You can go for a pontoon in the safest lake in the world, look above the deep gully in the world, try your karma sandboarding on the hills, climb the Andes, or fish for a piranha in the Amazon. Various activities in Peru include investigating puzzles of Nazca lines, navigating ancient relics in the Holy Valley, or encountering present-day Peru while roaming the streets of Lima.

The diversity of the scene, the people, and the interaction here make Peru one of the most interesting in the world. Find the best places to visit with our rundown of top holiday destinations in Peru.

Situated high on the edge, 300 meters above the Urubamba River, the great Inca city of Machu Picchu is one of the most emotional areas of a devastated city anywhere in the world. Almost as great as the fossils themselves are a spectacular array of towering, rich, evergreen mountains.

Living close to the guardian area, overlooking Machu Picchu, the desert guarding the mountains, and the lowly stream, you can imagine why the Incas chose this area to encompass their city.

Hiram Bingham passed through Machu Picchu in 1911 and accepted it until it passed as the "Lost City of the Incas," first recorded by Spanish troops in the 1500's. Nevertheless, historians accept that the real lost Inca city was in EspĂritu Pampa, a ruin that Bingham knew was limited and insignificant.

The trip is even more important in the experience of visiting Machu Picchu, whether it is to climb the Inca Trail or to see the course by train. In any case, it is unthinkable that the scenery could be revived. Trains travel from Cusco, Ollantaytambo, or Urubamba to Aguas Calientes.

From Aguas Calientes, a suburb of Machu Picchu, the transport takes you to Machu Picchu, around a 20-minute drive over a winding road. It is thought that you can walk down the street to the site, but this is a long, arduous climb.

As of January 2020, new verification rules have been set for Machu Pichu. You should also visit the guide, you should follow the prescribed tourist route, and you should go to the resort at the allotted time.

The peak season is June to August, but two months on either side also maintain good weather and can be a great opportunity to visit with small groups.
